På Mount Everest har nepalske klatrere hentet ned fire lik og 11 tonn søppel fra fjellet, melder NRK.
Det ligger svært mye gammelt søppel i fjellsiden, og det blir regnet med at rundt 300 døde fjellklatrere ligger på ulike steder mot toppen av verdens høyeste fjell.
Det opplyser en talsmann for Nepals turistdepartement..

Sju mennesker har den siste uka mistet livet på verdens høyeste fjell Mount Everest, som også er besteget av flere nordmenn de siste dagene, skriver VG Direkte.
41 grupper med til sammen 378 klatrere fra hele verden har fått tillatelse til å bestige Mount Everest under årets klatresesong i april og mai.
Bilder fra fjellet denne uken viser lange køer av klatrere som venter på å bestige den 8.848 meter høye toppen.
Mount Everest ble første gang besteget 29. mai 1953 av Edmund Hillery fra New Zealand og Tenzing Norgay fra Nepal.

Den nepalesiske sherpaen Kami Rita Sherpa (f.1970) er den første i verden til å bestige Mount Everest 23 ganger, da han nådde toppen med en gruppe klatrere 13.mai, melder NRK.no
I tillegg til Mount Everest har han også besteget flere andre av verdens høyeste fjell, blant dem K2.

Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana), capital city of Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan and Croatia intend to pay special attention to trade, economic and investment cooperation.

Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Marija Pejcinovic Buric, made an official visit to Kazakhstan on April 30, where she took part in the opening ceremony of the Croatian embassy in Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana), capital city of Kazakhstan, together with her Kazakh counterpart Beibut Atamkulov.
The two countries will also work out the issue of visa-free visits to Croatia for Kazakh citizens.
Marija Pejcinovic Buric emphasized the dynamic development of the capital city and Kazakhstan under the leadership of the first president Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The name of the capital city changed from Astana to Nur-Sultan recently, honouring Nursultan Nazarbayev, who resigned on 20 March, after 30 years in power.

Etter jordskjelvet i 2015 er det uenighet om fjellet, som er målt til 8.848 moh. har blitt mindre.

In Kazakhstan, the name of the capital city Astana has been officially changed, following a vote in the National Assembly today.
Nursultan Nazarbayev
Parliament voted that Astana is now called “Nursultan”, named after the country’s 78-year-old former President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who resigned yesterday, having been Head of State since 1990.
Nursultan, located in the middle of the country, has one million inhabitants, and is the country’s second city and became the capital of 1998, after Almaty (formerly Alma-Ata), in the southeast, which had been the capital in the entire Soviet period, and from independence in 1991.
Founded in 1830 as a settlement of Akmoly or Akmolinsky prikaz, it served as a defensive fortification for the Siberian Cossackc. In 1832 the settlement was granted a town status and renamed Akmolinsk. In 1961 the city was renamed Tselinograd, to mark the city’s evolution as a cultural and administrative center of the Virgin Lands Campaign.
In 1992 it was renamed Akmola, the modified original name meaning “white grave”. In 1997 Akmola replaced Almaty as the capital of Kazakhstan.
In 1998 it was renamed Astana, which means “capital city” in Kazakh.
