Det er satt ny varmerekord i Japan. I dag viste termometeret hele 41,1 grader i byen Kumagaya, nord for hovedstaden Tokyo, melder NRK. 
Hetebølgen har tatt minst 15 liv, og over 12.000 personer har havnet på sykehus.

The famous and popular Finikoudes (Phinikoudes) or Larnaca Beach, a Blue Flag beach, in Larnaca, Cyprus.
The half a kilometre beach runs along the busy seafront promenade, formally known as Athens (Athenon) Avenue, the heart of the cosmopolitan city.
The beach, one of the most famous in Cyprus, is named after the small palm trees planted along the promenade in 1922.
The beach is very clean, and is maintaned by Larnaca Municipality, who provide the summer lifeguard service.

Regjeringen i Ecuador skal være nær ved å trekke tilbake beskyttelsen av WikiLeaks-gründer Julian Assange (47), og kaste han ut av landets ambassade i London, hvor han har hatt tilhold de siste seks årene. Det skriver journalisten Glenn Greenwald på sin nettside The Intercept, melder NRK.

Ambassaden er sterkt bevoktet av britisk politi døgnet rundt, Assange risikerer å bli pågrepet hvis han forlater ambassaden.

Det er til tider svært folksomt utenfor ambassaden, av Assanges tilhengere, kritikere, media, turister, og andre skuelystne.

Australske Julian Assange er begjært utlevert til Sverige hvor han er siktet i en voldtektssak. Assange frykter at Sverige vil utlevere ham til USA.

Utenlandske cruiseskip har dobbelt så høye utslipp i norske farvann som Hurtigruten. Det viser en beregning fra Vestlandsforskning, skriver Adresseavisen ifølge NRK. 
Skipenes CO2 -utslipp utgjør om lag 3 prosent av de årlige utslippene fra innenlandstransport.

Den amerikanske taxitjenesten Ubers norske virksomhet fikk et resultat på 1,28 millioner kroner før skatt i fjor, samme år som selskapet la ned en av tjenestene her, skriver Dagens Næringsliv, ifølge NRK. 

Resultatet er det beste siden selskapet ble etablert i Norge i 2013. 

Uber har hovedkvarter i San Francisco.
