Det er satt ny rekord i juli for nedbør på Svalbard. Så langt denne måneden har det falt 81,6 millimeter nedbør på målestasjonen i Ny-Ålesund, melder NRK. 
Den forrige rekorden fra juli 1994 på 79,4 millimeter er allerede slått.

Myndighetene i San Francisco i California skal i dag ta stilling til et forbud mot plastbestikk, plastsugerør og andre små plastartikler, som ifølge miljøvernere er for små til å bli gjenvunnet, skriver NTB, ifølge VG.no

Seattle i delstaten Washington vedtok et lignende forbud tidligere denne måneden. 

Blir forbudet vedtatt i San Francisco, skal det tre i kraft i juli neste år.
