Et av verdens meste kjente luksusmerker åpner snart butikk i Oslo. Det er franske Balenciaga som nå åpner butikk i Nedre Slottsgate, hovedstadens nye “luksusgate”, og blir nabo med varemagasinet Steen og Strøm, skriver VG.

Etter det MinMote erfarer skal den nye butikken ligge vegg i vegg med Hermés, og Isabel Marant åpnet nylig sin første flagship-butikk like i nærheten. 

I samme strøk ligger også danske Ganni, Gucci og Bottega Veneta.

I Norge er Balenciaga kanskje mest kjent for sine dyre og eksklusive vesker.

Balenciaga ble grunnlagt alt i 1919, av den spanske designeren Cristobal Balenciaga. Den første butikken åpnet i San Sebastian i spansk Baskerland.

Hovedkvarteret ligger i dag i Paris.

The Indonesian government plans by the end of the year to finish assessing potential alternative cities that could become Indonesia?s new capital, The Jakarta Post reported.

National Development Planning Board head Bambang Brodjonegoro said Monday that the government was determined to move the Indonesian capital out of Java. He said Palangkaraya in Central Kalimantan was one of the options.

– It has to be outside Java, Bambang said on the sidelines of the Regional Workshop on Country Safeguard Systems as quoted by Antara news agency.

– The final decision will come within this year.

In the search for the country’s new capital city, Bambang explained that Bappenas was looking at the availability of land and natural resources around the potential cities. He, however, declined to detail the list of the alternatives besides Palangkaraya.

The government included Palangkaraya on the list because former president Soekarno had planned to move the capital city there.

A temporary casino is expected to open by October this year. That venue is slated for shutdown when the main casino opens. The consortium, comprising Melco of Australia and Macau, Hard Rock International of the U.S. and Phasouri Limited of Cyprus will also be allowed to open several satellite casinos in the country as part of their exclusive right to operate gaming for 15 or more years.

The four satellite casinos, allowed under the bid tender, will not be large venues, with one in Nicosia expected to host some 50 slots and only five tables. The Nicosia satellite is the largest of the four per current plans.

Famagusta, Paphos, and Larnaca will host the other three satellites which will only offer electronic gaming, no Las Vegas-style table games.

The National Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission is expected to issue operating licenses to the consortium after the construction contracts have been signed and recorded later this month.

While casino’s has been operating in the Turkish-occupied northern part of the island, in the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ for a number of years, and generating huge incomes, the casino business has been illegal in the south, in the Republic of Cyprus.

Bangkok er kjent for å ha verdens beste tilbud av gatemat. Det skal det nå bli slutt på, har lokale myndigheter bestemt, skriver ABC Nyheter

Innen utgangen av året vil det bli slutt på salg av all streetfood i Thailands hovedstad.

Nyheten blir ikke tatt godt i mot av lokalbefolkning og matentusiaster i byen som av CNN nylig ble kåret til verdens beste by for gatemat. skriver London-avisen The Guardian.

Til tross for Bangkoks status som streetfoodens mekka, mener thailandske myndigheter at hygienen og sikkerheten er for dårlig, og i tillegg ønsker de å gi fotgjengere mer plass.

Forbudet vil gjelde alle Bangkoks 50 distrikter.

I en uttalelse til Bangkok-avisen The Nation sier Wanlop Suwandee, rådgiver for guvernøren i Bangkok, at gateselgerne alt for lenge har erobret fortauene i byen.

– Vi har gitt dem plass til å selge mat lovlig på markedene, så det vil ikke bli noen unntak. Samtligere gateselgere vil bli nødt til å fjerne seg.

Piyabutr Jiuramonaikul, formann for de forretningsdrivende i berømte Khao San Road vil nå ta saken opp med myndighetene for å få gjort om på vedtaket.

– Det er over 200 selgere av streetfood i Khao San Road. De er med på å gjøre området unikt og trekker til seg turister fra hele verden, sier han.

Tourism officials hope to increase the number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan from 233,800 last year to around 500,000 by 2018. Vietnam targets 1 million Japanese visitors, up from 740,000 last year.

Vietnam’s fast-growing economy has created an increasingly large middle class who can now afford holidays overseas.

Ayumi Takahasi, a representative of JNTO in Hanoi, said that the office will organize a range of promotional activities in the coming time.

The Vietnam Tourism Association set up its first tourism representative office in Tokyo in 2014.
