Like bak Slottet, i huset ved siden av Restaurant Ni&Tyve i Parkveien, åpnet det tidligere i høst et nytt, lite og elegant boutique-hotell i samme stil – kalt Camillas Hus, skriver VG.
Huset i sveitserstil var opprinnelig en privatbolig, bygget i 1845, og en del av slottsarkitekt Hans Ditlev Franciscus von Linstows plan for de omkringliggende områdene da han tegnet Slottet.
Camilla Collett har bodd i huset – derav navnet på hotellet, som har syv rom. Hotellet i romantisk stil har himmelsenger, tunge gardiner og klassiske norske stilmøbler.
To av rommene er romslige juniorsuiter.

Camilla Hus er ikke et ordinært hotell, men heller et hjem man blir invitert inn i. Alt det historiske ved huset er ivaretatt i samarbeid med byantikvaren, samtidig som man har innlemmet det 20.århundrets krav til komfort.

Famous tourist attractions in Beijing, including the Forbidden City and the Jingshan Park, were inundated with visitors on Sunday as snow blanketed the Chinese Capital, cctv-america.com reported.
Long queues could be seen at the entrance to the Forbidden City all day long, as the imperial palace was decorated with white snowflakes, which covered the golden glazed tiles and brightened the traditional red walls.
Thousands of visitors climbed to the top of Jingshan Park in order to have a panoramic view of the Forbidden City. According to the Beijing-based Legal Evening News, the park saw a record number of visitors on Sunday, even surpassing numbers usually only seen on the National Day Holidays. For safety concerns, the park later had to close roads to the hill top.
While citizens and tourists in Beijing enjoyed the beautiful snowscape, snowstorms in north China swept across a vast area on Sunday, disrupting traffic, grounding flights and slowing bullet trains in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Inner Mongolia.
Nearly 300 flights were cancelled with many delayed at the Beijing Capital International Airport due to the continuous snow. The snow has continued to affect large areas. Today schools are closed in mountainous areas of Beijing. Meanwhile, the Beijing Meteorological Station has issued alerts for icy roads and possible blizzard conditions.
China’s National Meteorological Center forecasts the cold front will cause temperatures to drop a further 12°C (53.6°F) from Sunday to Tuesday in regions in the country’s north, northwest, and most parts of central and northeastern provinces.
In some mountainous areas of Beijing, temperatures are forecast to be as low as -18°C (-0.4°F) while in urban areas, thermometers could drop to -12°C (10.4°F) .

Cambodi’s capital Phnom Penh is to try to cut plastic bag use in the capital, joining other South-East Asian cities like Manila, Ho Chi Minh City and Penang, a media report said Tuesday.
UNESCO and the Ministries of the Environment and Tourism will launch the program Friday aimed at reducing the use of plastic bags and raising awareness about the dangers of littering.
The project will initially target the Riverside district, an area close to the Royal Palace and popular with both international tourists and local residents, but regularly littered in plastic bags and other refuse.
“It starts with us,” Eang Siphan, governor of the district, told the Phnom Penh Post.
“The authorities always have to educate people to divide rubbish and plastic that could affect the environment.
While Cambodia has several waste policies in places, implementing them has been a challenge. International grocery stores in Phnom Penh already charge a small fee for plastic bags, but smaller shops and kiosks often hand out multiple plastic bags with each purchase.
In 2010, Prime Minister Hun Sen blamed flooding in Phnom Penh on plastic bags, threatening fines of 20,000 riel (5 dollars) for people who litter, but little came of his plans.
It is also common to see people drop plastic wrapping on the ground immediately after use, or leave litter by the side of the road for collection by waste pickers, who take the most valuable pieces like glass and metal for resale but often leave the rest in the street.

The first light rail line in Addis Ababa, was opened for revenue service on September 20, following several months of test running.
Hundreds of residents queued for hours ahead of the opening to sample the new service, railwaygazette.com reported.
Designed to relieve growing road congestion as the Ethiopian capital city’s population passes 5 million inhabitants, the 34 km two-line network serving 39 stations has been constructed by China Railway Engineering Corp at an estimated cost of US$475m. The project has been 85% funded by loans from Export-Import Bank of China.
The first route to open is the 16·9 km north-south Blue Line linking Menelik Square to Kaliti, serving 23 stations. The 17·4 km east-west Green Line from Ayat to Tor Hailoch was opened in October. The two routes share tracks for 2·7 km in the city centre between Lideta and Meskel Square.
The network is operated by a fleet of 41 three-section 70% low-floor trams supplied by CNR Changchun. With trams running at up to 70 km/h, the two routes are designed to carry up to 15 000 passengers/h in each direction.
Services are initially operating between 06.00 and 22.00 each day, with Chinese contractors providing both the drivers and the maintenance staff. The Chinese will also be responsible for maintaining the tramway’s independent power supply network which includes four substations with a total rating of 160 MW.
Transport Minister Workneh Gebeyehu said the country was “very proud” to have the first light rail network in sub-Saharan Africa. He described it as “a sign of modernity”, which would “will serve the capital city of Africa”.
Addis Ababa is the home of the African Union, for which a new headquarters building was built by the Chinese in 2012.
Insisting that “the light rail is not for commercial purposes”, Gebeyehu explained that ticket prices would be “very cheap” in order to ?serve people with low Incomes”.

A new hotel opens in Ethiopia every two weeks, experts claim. This might sound like tourism development galloping along, but considering the rising number of tourists visiting the country, there is still a huge gap between supply and demand. According to a World Bank (WB) estimate, Ethiopia attracted nearly 700,000 visitors in 2013, ethiosports.com reported.
In light of this emerging dynamic and in the thrust to modernize the country’s hospitality industry, hotels in the capital city have recently been star rated.
Last week, Marriott Executive Apartments, Addis Abeba, owned by Sunshine Business Plc, was certified as the fifth five star hotel in a city dubbed the political and diplomatic capital of the African continent. Sunshine’s 45.5 million dollar property will undoubtedly contribute to the city’s drive to become a major tourist destination with a rising number of highly rated facilities to cater for and host tourists visiting the country for business, pleasure or both.
Marriott Executive Apartments’ star rating comes at a time when the government programme of hotel star grading, funded by the World Bank, recently reached a milestone with hotels in Addis Abeba receiving grading certificates for the first time in the country’s history of hospitality services.
Hotel grading is one aspect of WB’s Sustainable Tourism Development project being implemented with a 39.5 million dollar budget. The project, which has been ongoing in Ethiopia since 2009, is expected to be completed in December 2015.
It aims to contribute “to the enhancement of the quality and variety of tourism products and services in targeted destinations so as to increase the volume of tourism, foreign exchange earnings and jobs,” the bank’s website reads. As such, the project has four components pertaining to destination development, market development, institutional development and capacity building, and implementation support and results monitoring.

The consulate general of St Kitts and Nevis marked its re-opening in the Middle East on Saturday night with a private invitation-only event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), caribbeannewsnow.com reported.
Chairing the ceremony, Elsa Wilkin-Armbrister, the recently appointed acting consul general, officially announced the re-opening of the consulate to service the needs of St Kitts and Nevis citizens throughout the Middle East.
Wilkin-Armbrister, a native of Nevis, brings with her a wealth of international business and academic experience. With a BA in Psychology, an MSc in International Marketing and midway through a PhD in Marketing, Wilkin-Armbrister has represented the Federation for over 20 years in the areas of politics, tourism, public diplomacy and education. Well versed in international affairs having worked in USA, UK, Netherlands, Peru, Monaco, Romania, Tanzania and Zambia, Wilkin-Armbrister has lectured at various top universities in both the UK and Netherlands.
Also present at the re-opening was Mark Brantley, St.Kitts and Nevis Minister of Foreign affairs. Mr.Brantley addressed the audience on the importance of evolving reciprocal business relationships between St Kitts and Nevis citizens and governments in the Middle East. He urged citizens to consider investment opportunities in their country of naturalization with opportunities in tourism, healthcare, education and infrastructure mentioned.
The event was co-sponsored by Savory & Partners, a British owned and managed citizenship and residency by investment immigration company headquartered in Dubai. Members of the Savory & Partners Dubai office brought with them clients and citizens.
