Ukraine yesterday opened a consulate in Cagliari, capital city of the Italian island of Sardinia, the Ukrainian embassy in Rome announced on their Facebook site.

Ukraine will be represented in Sardinia by honorary consul Anthony Grande. His work will be aimed at strengthening the interregional dialogue,  developing economic and cultural cooperation and protecting the rights of the Ukrainian community of the Italian island.

Ukraine Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Ambassador of Ukraine to Italy Yevhen Perelyhin, representatives of local authorities and the Ukrainian community in Sardinia took part in the event.
