Photo of the Day: A chef and a waiter stands at the entrance of the legendary, world famous Lale Restaurant, better known in the hippie and flower power era of the 1960s as The Pudding Shop, in Istanbul. The popular restaurant was the major meeting point for drivers and passengers in their Vw Hippie Van’s, and backpackers travelling east from Western Europe to Afghanistan, Nepal, and Goa in India, and back.
The traveller’s all important and famous message board inside the restaurant still exists, but with fewer messages than way back then, obviously. Photo taken in the early 1980s.
