Emirates, the world’s largest international airline today, has announced three new weekly flights between Dubai and Cairo, commencing on 1st January 2016, reports ameinfo.com
The new service will supplement the current twice daily Boeing 777-300ER flights, taking the total number of flights serving Cairo to 17 each week.

The Republic of Korea this week opened an embassy in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia.
Georgia established an embassy in the Korean capital Seoul in 2011. Until now, bilateral diplomatic services in Georgia have been handled by the Korean Embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Georgia received 5.6 million tourists last year and more than 4,000 Korean tourists traveled to Georgia on trekking, skiing, golfing and wine tours in 2013, according to koreaherald.com
The Korea Water Resources Corp. and Georgian Partnership Fund signed an agreement last year to develop a $1 billion, 280-megawatt hydropower station in Svaneti province in northern Georgia.
Korean conglomerates including Hyundai Motors, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have invested in Georgia, and small and medium-sized Korean companies, including Dohwa Engineering and Pyunghwa Engineering, are currently involved in energy and infrastructure projects, reports koreaherald.com

Nigeria, Ecuador friendship flourished yesterday when the first ambassador of the South American country presented his Letters of Credence to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in the Nigerian federal capital city of Abuja, reports The Sun newspaper.
The event officially marked the opening of the country’s embassy in Nigeria as well as the beginning of a new dawn in the two countries friendship, which has existed at the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) over the years.
Ambassador Leopoldo Rovayo Verdesoto pledged to strengthen and consolidate the existing fraternal, warm and cordial relations between Ecuador and Nigeria.
President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa Delgado, also, sent his compliments to president Buhari and thanked him for the opening of the Ecuadorian diplomatic mission.
Almost 12 % of the Ecuadorian population has African heritage. He recalled the cordial ties between the two countries at the OPEC, especially when Nigeria helped Ecuador when its oil pipeline was broken in 1987.
Rovayo also expressed the solidarity of the people and government of Ecuador with Nigeria in the struggle against terrorism. He described Ecuador’s rejection of terrorism as a vital part of its foreign policy; and reiterated Ecuador’s commitment to assist in any way possible in the multilateral forums.
The ambassador also offered to assist handicap Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who survived Boko Haram insurgency through an Ecuadorian programme called “Manuela Espejo.”
Commenting, President Buhari expressed his appreciation for the opening of the embassy in Abuja. He said it would help the two countries to work together to strengthen bilateral ties.
The 51-years-old envoy is a Lawyer. He started his diplomatic career in 1989. He has served in Peru and Spain. At the Foreign Ministry in the Ecuadorian capital, Quito, he served at the Directorates of Sovereignty, Modernization Process, Cultural, Protocol, Juridical issues; he was the Director of Press of the Foreign Ministry; and was recently seconded to the National Prosecutor’s Office as the Director of International Affairs.

Ukraine International Airlines this summer launched seven new routes, starting with thrice-weekly services between Kiev and Amman, capital of Jordan, reports anna.aero.
From the seven services launched, this is also the only sector that will face direct competition. This comes in the form of Royal Jordanian and Ukrainian-Mediterranean.
The other wew routes from Kiev are: Yerevan, Lviv, Madrid, Bologna, Vilnius and Kharkiv.

Royal Jordanian started two services to two capital cities this week, launching flights from Amman to Turkish capital Ankara on 8 December, while resuming services to Jakarta, capital of Indonesia on 14 December, reports anna.aero
The former route is a 970-kilometre sector that utilises the airline’s 101-seat E195 fleet (although the inaugural service was flown by an A321), whereas the long-haul, 8,684-kilometre run to the latter city is flown by the oneworld carrier’s 280-seat A330-200s.
The Jakarta route was last operated by Royal Jordanian in May 2003 and is flown via the airline’s existing Kuala Lumpur service. Both routes will face no direct competition and both are flown on a thrice-weekly basis.
Speaking about the Ankara launch, TAV Esenboða, operator of Ankara Airport, GM Nuray Demirer said: “We are glad that Esenboða Airport is now connected to Amman, via Royal Jordanian Airlines. Today, we are facilitating flights to 26 destinations in 13 countries from Esenboða Airport. We believe our growth in passenger and aircraft traffic will continue with these new destinations included in our flight network.”

Vienna is famous for its coffee house culture, which has been recognised by Unesco as part of Austria’s cultural heritage, but many of its cafes are struggling to survive.
Every year one in four cafes is forced to close, according to new figures from the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, reports thelocal.at
Berndt Querfeld, who owns the historic Cafe Landtmann on the Ringstrasse and represents coffee houses in the Chamber of Commerce told the Kurier newspaper that the majority of the 2,500 coffee houses in Vienna are finding it hard to make ends meet. “The ones that are doing best are the around 120 or 130 historic coffee houses in the most favourable locations,” he said.
However, despite some cafes having to close up shop the total number of coffee houses remains around the same because of the relatively high number of new cafes opening each year. “Many of these only last for about six months,” Querfeld said. He added that newcomers on the scene underestimate the challenges that lie ahead, and some simply close down their business to avoid paying a high tax bill.
According to Querfeld some of the reasons why cafes are suffering are the stricter rules regarding non-smoking areas, the new EU law which means they have to label all ingredients that contain allergens, and the introduction of compulsory cash registers as part of the tax reform.
The economic crisis has made punters behave more frugally when visiting a coffee house. “More often than not a customer will order a piece of cake with a second fork for their companion. It’s even becoming a rather chic thing to do.”
Slot machines have also been banned from cafes recently, and Querfeld believes that this is putting many smaller cafes in less central locations out of business. “If they had a slot machine or two they could afford to sell snacks and drinks at lower prices, but this isn’t the case anymore.”
The heyday of the Vienna coffee house was the turn of the 19th century when they were frequented by well-known writers, artists and politicians. Many famous Viennese cafes had to close in the 1950s due to the popularity of television and new espresso bars.
