På toppen av Hotell U Prince i Tsjekkias hovedstad Praha ligger byens mest populære og tilgjengelige takterasse, Terasa u Prince. Hotellet ligger vis a vis parlamentsbygningen, og fra terassen er det utsikt over torget i gamlebyen, skriver Se og Hør.
Terassen har flere ganger blitt kåret til Prahas beste, og er midt i blinken for både lunsj og middag.

Naked women became the talk of the town after going on a trip to Prague, the Czech capital, and forgetting to pack any clothes, the dailystar.co.uk reported.
Footage of the models’ city break shows them stopping traffic and even posing for photos with gobsmacked tourists.
It’s not unusual for the pair to turn heads with their long legs and stunning good looks but this time they took things a step further.
The blonde beauties were completing their day trip around Prague – totally nude.
In the cheeky video, the girls have bared all for a naked walking tour.
They walk hand-in-hand while totally starkers – stopping only to chat to bemused passers-by.

A proposed ban on Segways in selected parts of Prague will be broader than expected according to the draft proposal which is to be debated by Prague councilors next week, Radio Praha reported.
The proposal, which was made available to the CTK news agency, envisages a complete ban in Prague 1, Holesovice and Letna and selected parts of the districts Vinohrady, Zizkov, Prahy 4, Smíchov and Liben.
Segways should be banned from pavements, cycle paths, pedestrian zones and streets. The ban should come into effect in mid-August.
Segway operators say they will sue the city for losses incurred.

Navnet på Tsjekkia, eller Den tsjekkiske republikk, har mellom 30 og 40 ulike skrivermåter på ulike språk (se nederst på siden). Også hovedstaden Praha har ulike skrivemåter. Mens tsjekkere og slovaker, nordmenn, estlendere og finner reiser til byen vi kaller Praha, heter byen Birag på arabisk, Praag på nederlandsk, og Prag på svensk, tysk, bosnisk, kroatisk og tyrkisk.
Italienerne kaller byen Praga, det heter den også på polsk, portugisisk, spansk, ungarsk og gresk, mens briter og franskmenn reiser til Prague.
Tsjekkias vakre hovedstad skal beholde dagens navn, men landet får nå etter alt å dømme et nytt navn.
Nordmenn har kalt landet Tsjekkia for nettopp Tsjekkia i mange år, men internasjonalt har landet vært kjent som Czech Republic – Den tsjekkiske republikk, etter at Tsjekkoslovakia ble delt i 1993, til de to statene Tsjekkia, og Slovakia.
Det vil Tsjekkias president Milos Zeman (71) ha en forandring på. Han har nå bedt FN endre til landets navn til Czechia, skriver London-avisen The Guardian.
Håpet er at det nye navnet skulle være innarbeidet allerede til OL i Rio de Janeiro til sommeren, men de tsjekkiske OL-antrekkene er allerede prydet med gode gamle “Czech Republic”, skriver TV2 på sine nettsider.
Tsjekkisk eksportøl er allerede merket “Czech”, men dette er et nasjonalitetsadjektiv på linje med “norsk” og “fransk”.
Enkelte tilhengere av det nye og kortere navnet på Tsjekkia har opprettet nettsiden Go Czechia. Her tar de et oppgjør med gamle myter om det korte navnet, og påpeker at “Tsjekkia” var i bruk allerede på 1600-tallet, ifølge TV2.
Den tsjekkiske skulptøren David Cerny, påpeker at landet har utfordringer innen korrupsjon og høyreekstremisme.
– Utfordringen vår i disse dager er hva som skjer med landet, ikke hva som skjer med landets navn, sa David Cerny ifølge The New York Times.
– Navnet “Tsjekkia” er verken sexy eller rock’n roll, sier kunstneren videre.
Landets utviklingsminister Karla Slektova sier at den engelske varianten av Tsjekkia lett kan forveksles med den engelske uttalen av Tsjetsjenia, en delrepublikk i Russland.
Tsjekkias tidligere utenriksminister, og tidligere presidentkandidat – fyrst Karel Schwarzenberg (78) overhode for en av landets eldste adelsslekter, tar til orde for å gå tilbake til det middelalderske Bohemia, som blir Böhmen på norsk..
Men motstanderne av dette forslaget sier Böhmen var benevnelsen på regionen vest i dagens Tsjekkia.
Tsjekkias regjering og nasjonalforsamling går inn for “Czechia”-varianten, og vil nå ta navneendringen videre til FN.

This year will see Good Friday as a public holiday in the Czech Republic of the first time.
About 235,000 foreigners are expected to arrive in the Czech capital Prague for Easter, which is 7 percent more than last year, reports the Prague Post.
Easter Sunday falls on March 27 for people following the Western calendar. In the Czech Republic, Good Friday (Velký pátek) will be a public holiday for the first time due to a new law. Easter Monday (Velikonoèní pondìlí) will continue to be a holiday as well, making a four-day weekend.
Most tourists will come from Europe for the long weekend, with many of the visitors expected from neighboring countries – Germany, Slovakia, Austria and Poland, according to projections by municipal agency Prague City Tourism.
Many visitors will also come from Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain and France. Europeans in the last four years accounted for 70 percent of the total number of foreign visitors during the Easter holidays in Prague.
The expected boost in tourism in Prague is in part from people in other parts of the Czech Republic who will have Friday off this year for the first time.
About 30,000 Czechs are expected visiting the capital at the end of March to meet up with friends and family or just for a one day tour, Prague City Tourism said.
In Russia, Easter celebration will be May 1, so tourists from there are expected to come a bit later. Despite the number of Russian tourists decreasing in recent years, Russia remains one of the main tourist supplier to the Czech Republic.
This year, Prague City Tourism expects the 14 percent growth of tourists from Asia, due in part to new direct flights from several cities.
While not as important as the Christmas markets, Prague will again have Easter markets on Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square and other locations in the city, operated by several different companies.
The ones at Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square will open March 12 and end April 3. During that time, there will also be events for St Patrick’s Day on March 17.
The Old Town Square market will have live music and other entertainment daily, as well as activities for children such as painting eggs.
Animals including sheep and goats will be in a petting zoo.
Good Friday had been a holiday in Czechoslovakia up to 1951, when it was removed from the calendar by the then-communist government.

Czech Republic, Land of Stories – is the slogan used by the Czech tourism board. British online newspaper Jewish News (jewishnews.co.uk) has checked out the Jewish history in Prague and the rest of the Czech Republic.
For the most part, Jews here prospered from their arrival in 995, right up until the end of the 19th century.
But rising anti-Semitism and the Second World War all but eradicated what was one of the largest and most vibrant Jewish communities in the world. From a high point of 153 Jewish communities in the 1930s, the Czech Republic is now home to just 10.
Jewish News first stop was in the capital, Prague, which nowadays has no more than 1,800 Jews. Once home to a thriving Jewish Quarter, all that remains is the town hall, six synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery, in which can be seen 12,000 tombstones.
Preserving the buildings, the artefacts inside them, and promotion of the area is down to the city’s Jewish Museum.
Housing around 100,000 books and tens of thousands of photographs and documents, it depicts the city’s once rich and prosperous Jewish life.
