Antallet utenlandske turister som besøkte Frankrike i 2015 økte med 0,9 prosent, til tross for terrorangrepene i Paris den 13. november, skriver VG.
Dette skyldes en stor økning av asiatiske turister, spesielt fra Kina, ifølge den franske utenriksministeren Jean-Marc Ayrault, skriver AFP.
Frankrike er dermed fortsatt det mest besøkte turist-landet i verden, med rundt 84.5 millioner besøkende årlig.

Romance in Paris has rarely been cheaper as hotels cut their prices to woo back tourists after the terror attacks in November, according to The Times newspaper.
The average cost of a night in the French capital – the City of Light – has fallen by 9 per cent compared with the same period last year and is set to drop further amid alarm in the tourist industry.
Concern has been fuelled by a study showing that hotels are struggling with their lowest occupancy rate for 25 years as visitors stay away amid fears of more attacks.

US Hotel group Marriott International is concerned about tourist bookings in Paris this summer after November’s attacks on the French capital, an executive at the firm said on Tuesday, reports skift.com
Marriott, whose brands include the Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Autograph and Courtyard and which has 15 hotels in Paris, is working with the city’s tourist office and adapting some of its pricing in a bid to get travelers back there.
“Paris is the one that concerns us, but for the rest of Europe we don’t think there’s any reason why we shouldn’t get strong leisure travel,” Amy McPherson, Marriott Europe head, told Reuters at the IHIF hotels conference in Berlin.
McPherson said places such as Barcelona, London and Portugal were enjoying increased demand.
Earlier Marriott said it will double in size in Europe due to its takeover of Starwood, announced late last year.
Marriott has 61,000 rooms open in Europe, to which Starwood will add 40,500. The two companies’ pipeline of 21,500 planned hotel rooms means it will have more than 123,000 open or signed rooms once the deal completes in mid-2016.

Eierne av Le Bataclan, den tradisjonsrike og populære konsertarenaen i Paris som ble rammet av terrorangrep fredag 13.november, har annonsert via sin egen nettside at de nå planlegger å gjenåpne arenaen, skriver nrk.no
I en kort beskjed melder de at de har bestemt seg for å renovere lokalet, og vil gjøre sitt beste for å arrangere nye konserter mot slutten av året.
De skriver at de vil komme med ny informasjon så snart de vet noe mer. I meldingen takker de også for all støtten de har mottatt de siste månedene.

Under terrorangrepet hadde det amerikanske rockebandet Eagles Of Death Metal konsert for rundt 1500 mennesker, der 89 ble drept. Bandet har understreket at de vil tilbake igjen til og spille ny konsert i Le Bataclan. Til sammen 130 mennesker ble drept i terroraksjonene i Paris denne kvelden.

Restauranter i Frankrike er nå pålagt å tilby såkalte doggy bags til sine spisegjester for å redusere mengden av mat som kastes, skriver VG.
De nye reglene trådte i kraft ved nyttår, og gjelder spisesteder som serverer mer enn 180 måltider per dag, I Frankrike er det ikke populært med doggy bags, da det anses som brudd på gastronomisk etikette.
Restaurantgjester i Frankrike spør ikke om doggy bags, av frykt for å virke udannede og gjerrige, ifølge HHR Nett.
Frankrikes regjering har imidlertid som mål å redusere de 7 millioner tonnene med mat som kastes hvert år.
– Dette er ikke populært i Frankrike. Å ta med rester fra en restaurant er ikke vanlig, og blir ofte avfeid som en amerikansk uskikk, sier matskribenten Franck Pinay-Rabaroust.
En meningsmåling viser at 7 av 10 franskmenn aldri har brukt en doggy bag, men for å gjøre det hele mer spiselig vil det franske hotell- og restaurantforbundet døpe om posene til “Le gourmet bag”.

A new Air China route coming on stream on Saturday to link Paris and Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, will make the French capital Europe’s best-connected city with the Middle Kingdom, Aeroports de Paris (ADP) said Tuesday, channelnewsasia.com reports.
The Chinese carrier will fly four times weekly to Charles de Gaulle airport, from where ADP said 89 flights will leave for China – excluding Hong Kong – each week.
Chengdu is the “main entry point for central western China and represents a 12 million-strong market. It is also a very important business centre and top tourist destination,” ADP noted in a statement.
The Sichuan capital becomes the eighth Chinese city with a direct link to Paris, which brings the French capital even with Frankfurt but with a greater number of flights.
In addition to longstanding connections with Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong, the past two years have seen routes between Paris and Wuhan and Xian in central China, Hangzhou in the east and Kunming in the southwest, ADP noted. It added that the newer routes in the main serve “Chinese passengers wishing to discover France for the first time.”
The organisation said Charles de Gaulle airport northeast of Paris was “Chinese friendly” with extensive Chinese language signposting as well as Mandarin-speaking staff.
Frankfurt serves eight Chinese cities for 76 flights a week, Amsterdam operates 47 to six cities and London currently offers 54 flights weekly to four cities, according to ADP.

Frankrike er verdens mest besøkte land, noe som ikke minst skyldes de mer enn 30 millionene som hvert år kommer til den franske hovedstaden.
Ifølge reiseanalyseselskapet ForwardKeys – som har sett på antallet nye flybookinger ti dager etter angrepet – har nå terroren som rammet byen redusert besøket med 25 prosent. Det kan synes lite bare ti dager etter angrepet, men skulle det fortsette vil det få betydelige konsekvenser for byens reiselivsindustri.
I hovedsak knytter reduksjonen seg til fritidsreisende.
