En Airbus A380 – verdens største passasjerfly – sendte mandag ettermiddag ut nødsignal utenfor kysten av Norge. Flyet, som tilhører flyselskapet Emirates i Dubai i De forente arabiske emirater, var på vei fra Dubai til Houston i Texas, da en av passasjerene om bord ble akutt syk, skriver VG.
Dermed måtte flygiganten hastelande på Oslo Lufthavn Gardermoen, der ambulanser sto klare til å ta imot den alvorlig syke pasienten.
Flykjempen ble møtt av et stort antall flyspottere og andre interesserte som kom seg til Gardermoen på svært kort varsel. Flyet fortsatte senere mandag den nesten 16 timer lange ferden mot Texas etter et kort stopp i Oslo.

Kazakhstani government officials and tourist companies recently discussed prospects of the tourism industry development in Kazakhstan at a meeting in Almaty, the country’s largest city and former capital, the The Times of Central Asia reported.
The meeting participants said a new impulse in this direction will be given by the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 “Energy of the Future”.
This significant world-class event will be held for the first time in Central Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), in Kazakhstan’s capital city Astana between 10 June and 10 September 2017.
For Astana and the whole of Kazakhstan it will be the first and foremost opportunity to showcase the Kazakh state, its culture, history, traditions and modern achievements.
“Astana will turn into the biggest stage area of the world, and the EXPO will be the new direction of tourism and entertainment,” said Rosa Asanbaeva, adviser to the chairman of the board of JSC “Astana EXPO-2017.
It is expected that more than 5 million people will attend the event, including 85% Kazakhstanis and 15% foreign visitors.
The director of the regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty, Yuri Tleumuratov, spoke about the tourism potential of Almaty and development of a roadmap for tourism in Almaty.
According to the roadmap, it is planned to develop a tourist navigation system for the city, launch a shuttle service from the airport to the city center, and build an ethnic village at Boraldai mounds.
Among the objectives on the national scale, it is planned to expand the list of visa-free countries, lower the prices for domestic flights, and improve beach areas at Kazakhstan’s water reservoirs and organize public toilets.
According to experts, all these measures will bring tangible results in two or three years.

På ettårsdagen for jordskjelvet i Nepal, der hovedstaden Katmandu ble kraftig rammet, har gjenoppbyggingen knapt startet, skriver NRK.
Milliardene som ble samlet inn står fortsatt på konto, og jordskjelvofrene er i hovedsak overlatt til seg selv.

Over 1400 mennesker mistet livet og store deler av Nepals hovedstad Katmandu ble kraftig rammet og påført store ødeleggelser i jordskjelvene i april og mai 2015.

En av Nepals, og Katmandus store turistattraksjonener, det berømte 62 meter og ni etasjer høye Dharahara-tårnet (bildet), kollapset og lagt i grus. Minst 180 mennesker mistet livet da tårnet raste sammen.

A London restaurant, ‘The Bunyadi’ – which means ‘base’ or ‘natural’ in Hindi, will be first of it’s kind ‘optional-clothing’ place to dine in the British capital city.
A brainchild of Lollipop, the company behind Breaking Bad themed cocktail bar, will open its door for 3 months only in June this year, Storypick.com can report.
In an interview given to IBTimes, the founder of Lollipop, Seb Lyall says, ‘The idea is to experience true liberation. We have worked very hard to design a space where everything patrons interact with is bare and naked. The use of natural bamboo partitions and candlelight has enabled us to make the restaurant discreet, whilst adhering to the ethos behind it. No doubt, this has been the most challenging project for us yet, which makes us very excited about it’
The restaurant will be divided into ‘pure’ which simply put means ‘the naked section’ and the clothed section. Patrons will be provided with lockers, changing rooms and gowns.
The menu is yet to be decided but, will serve vegan and non-vegan.
On the website of the restaurant, 23,000 are have registered to dine in at the restaurant. Needless to say, photography will be prohibited in the restaurant, according to Storypick.com

Prince, som var døpt Prince Rogers Nelson, ble 57 år gammel. Han ble funnet død i sitt hjem i fødebyen Minneapolis i Minnesota.
Etter at dødsfallet ble kjent har Prince blitt hyllet med spontane arrangement og markeringer i storbyer verden over, og kjente bygninger og attraksjoner er blitt opplyst i fargen lilla, med henvisning til sangen “Purple Rain”.

I hele sommer kan du nyte både fast og flytende føde på matbilfestival – Food Truck Festival, i Nederland. Festivalen åpner i Rotterdam i mai, går videre til hovedstaden Amsterdam, Utrecht, Maastricht og mange andre byer, skriver Se og Hør.
Festivalen avsluttes i Nederlands administrative hovedstad Haag i september.
