Austria has opened a honorary consulate in Muscat, the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman, and Sheikh Faisal al Hashar has been appointed as honorary consul.
An inauguration ceremony was recently held at the Sheraton Oman Hotel, in the presence of Mr Gregor W Koessler, Austrian Ambassador to Oman, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and Omani officials, members of business and Austrian communities, and other honorary consuls of the European Union.
