The world’s largest largest football tournament – Norway Cup, kicked off in the capital city Oslo yesterday. Norway Cup, an international youth football tournament for ages 10 through 19 for both genders, sees a typical 1400 to 1700 teams from between 50 and 60 countries, and has been held annually since 1972 (except 1976).

This year the tournament hits an all time record with 2199 teams from 57 different countries.

More than 53,000 teams from a total of 126 countries have participated during the history of Norway Cup.

The tournament takes place at Ekebergsletta, a large grass covered field on Ekeberg plateau, southeast of downtown Oslo.

Norway Cup is organized by Bækkelagets Sportsklub.
