Det er satt ny rekord i juli for nedbør på Svalbard. Så langt denne måneden har det falt 81,6 millimeter nedbør på målestasjonen i Ny-Ålesund, melder NRK. Den forrige rekorden fra juli 1994 på 79,4 millimeter er allerede slått.

Myndighetene i San Francisco i California skal i dag ta stilling til et forbud mot plastbestikk, plastsugerør og andre små plastartikler, som ifølge miljøvernere er for små til å bli gjenvunnet, skriver NTB, ifølge VG.no
Seattle i delstaten Washington vedtok et lignende forbud tidligere denne måneden.
Blir forbudet vedtatt i San Francisco, skal det tre i kraft i juli neste år.

The famous and popular Finikoudes (Phinikoudes) or Larnaca Beach, a Blue Flag beach, in Larnaca, Cyprus. The half a kilometre beach runs along the busy seafront promenade, formally known as Athens (Athenon) Avenue, the heart of the cosmopolitan city. The beach, one of the most famous in Cyprus, is named after the small palm trees planted along the promenade in 1922.
