På grunn av de høye temperaturene i sommer har fire meter snø smeltet fra fjellet Kebnekaises 2106 meter høye sydtopp, og toppen er dermed ikke lenger Sveriges høyeste, melder SVT, ifølge NRK.
Nå seiler fjellets nordtopp opp som det høyeste punktet.
Kebnekaise ble besteget første gang i 1883, av den franske geografen, etnografen, utforskeren, breforskeren og fjellklatreren Charles Rabot (1856-1944).
Fjellet ligger i Lappland, 70 kilometer vest for Kiruna.
