After their arrival on Sunday, the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess dined with prime minister Justin Trudeau and Ms Sophie Grégoire Trudeau as a prelude to the official programme starting Monday.  

In the course of the four-day visit they will also be travelling to Toronto, and St John’s, capital of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Det er My City Home Hotel i Oslo sentrum som bygges om, skifter navn og åpner dørene til “et trendy og moderne hotell”, heter det i en pressemelding.

Hotellet har 50 rom og studioleiligheter og et lobbyområde som ifølge Best Western vil invitere til sosialt samvær. I underetasjen finner man fortsatt det veganske spisestedet Fristelse Café & Bistro, som har alle rettigheter og allerede har opparbeidet stor popularitet.

Best Western Plus City Hotel ligger i en klassisk bygård fra 1858 i Kvadraturen, vegg i vegg med Høyskolen Kristiania, få meter fra Karl Johan og det meste av Oslos severdigheter, skriver nettstedet.

– Det blir veldig stas å få et Best Western Plus-hotell midt i Oslo sentrum, sier Hege Ramm, Country Manager for Best Western Scandinavia i Norge.

– Her vil gjestene kunne nyte godt av hotellets moderne fasiliteter og et høyt servicenivå, og beliggenheten midt i sentrum av byen vil tiltrekke seg mange av våre internasjonale og nasjonale gjester.

Freshe sneakers: Dette er skoene som gjelder i vår

– Parisavtalen er historisk, og den betyr at verdens land skal arbeide for å kutte klimagassutslippene. Det er et sterkt signal til næringsliv og myndigheter om at vi er på vei mot lavutslippssamfunnet, sier statsminister Erna Solberg (H) til NTB.

Fredag ettermiddag ble lysene i Holmenkollbakken tent for å markere at Parisavtalen formelt blir internasjonal lov.

Også Eiffeltårnet i Paris lyste opp i grønt i helgen.

– Vi vet at klimaendringene betyr mindre snørike vintre, men med Parisavtalen skal vi og verden gjøre alt vi kan for å redusere den globale oppvarmingen, sier klima- og miljøminister Vidar Helgesen (H).

Formålet med avtalen er å holde den globale oppvarmingen under 2 grader og prøve å begrense temperaturøkningen til 1,5 grader.

I alt har 92 land ratifisert avtalen.

The deli, created with leading UK chef Jamie Oliver (pictured) is the first of 29 food and beverage units SSP is opening as part of a major expansion project at Oslo Airport, set to be officially opened on Thursday the 27th of April 2017. SSP has a significant presence at the airport, and has been operating here since 1998.

Jamie Oliver’s newest restaurant concept and his first restaurant opening in Norway, Jamie’s Deli serves rustic ‘Jamie-style’ food that’s fast, honest and responsibly sourced. Provenance is a priority, and, for example the new brand serves meat that is always higher welfare and traceable to a sustainable source as well as fish that is also always traceable to a sustainable source. Fresh produce is sourced as locally as possible.

Catering for all types of customers, Jamie’s Deli offers plenty of healthy balanced choices, as well as occasional treats such as freshly baked pastries.

A smoothie station provides fresh drinks, blended to order. Customers can choose to eat in or take away, enjoying the same high quality whether they sit down and dine or grab and go. An informal and friendly environment gives passengers an experience that suits them perfectly, whatever the time of day.

Hot food displays, a pizza oven and open kitchens add a little theatre to the visit.

‘Jamie Oliver is one of the world’s best known chefs and his name is instantly recognisable here in Norway,’ says Morten Solberg Nilsen, managing director of SSP Norway. ‘This new deli, which has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the airport passenger from breakfast time to late in the evening, will be very popular with passengers at Oslo, and will be the perfect complement to the excellent range of brands SSP will be offering at this important travel location.’

Torgeir Kjos Sørensen, Commercial Director at Avinor Oslo airport, was similarly enthusiastic about the prospects for the new brand.

SSP will open a Jamie’s Italian restaurant at the airport in April next year as part of the next stages of the development. A Ritazza coffee shop also opened on 1st November.

SSP will also be opening Jamie’s Deli at Dusseldorf Airport in early 2017.

Den britiske rockestjernen Sting (65) blir første artist som spiller på konsertstedet Bataclan i Paris etter terrorangrepet i fjor. Det kunngjør artisten selv på sitt nettsted.

Under terrorangrepet i fjor hadde det amerikanske rockebandet Eagles Of Death Metal konsert for rundt 1500 mennesker. Bandet har understreket at de vil tilbake igjen til og spille ny konsert i Le Bataclan.

Til sammen 130 mennesker ble drept i terroraksjonene i Paris denne kvelden, inkludert 90 på Bataclan.

Konsertlokalet åpnet dørene første gang i 1865.

På gjenåpningen 16. november blir det også konsert med Babyshambles-vokalist Pete Doherty.

Den svenske jernbaneoperatøren Sveriges Jernväger (SJ) ønsker å ta mer trafikk fra flyselskapene på strekningen Oslo-Stockholm.

Av de 1,4 millioner som årlig flyr mellom de to er målet å ta 35 prosent i løpet av de neste årene, skriver Travelnews.

SJ har hatt en jevn økning i passasjertallet på strekningen mellom de to hovedstedene. og i desember øker de daglige avgangene fra tre til fem.

Det illustrerer ambisjonen jernbaneoperatøren har på strekningen.

– Vi tror at vi kan få 35 prosent av dem som idag tar flyet over på tog, sier SJ-sjef Crister Fritzon i en kommentar til Dagsavisen.

SJ satte sitt raskeste tog – X2000 – på Oslo-ruten i august i fjor. Det førte blant annet til en stigning i passasjertallene på 25 prosent for juli, august og september i år sammenlignet med året før.

Ifølge Christer Fritzons beregninger tar nå ti prosent av dem som tidligere fløy nå toget mellom Oslo og Stockholm.

Her søker selskapet kapteiner og styrmenn til sine Boeing 787 Dreamlinere for langdistanse-flyvninger.

Pilotene skal allokeres til Norwegians eksisterende langdistansebase på London Gatwick, samt tre nye baser i Paris Charles de Gaulle, Barcelona El Prat og Amsterdam Schiphol.

Det er foreløpig ikke kjent hvor pilotene som plasseres i Amsterdam skal fly.
