Oslo er nummer fire på lista over verdens dyreste byer å spise på hotell. Øverst på Hotels.coms “sandwich-liste” troner Genève i Sveits, skriver www.travelnews.no

Listen rangerer byene i forhold til snittprisen du betaler for en klassisk club sandwich.

Denne gang har Hotels.com inkludert tre andre vanlige retter og tilbehør du finner i byenes hotellrestauranter og kafeer – et hamburger-måltid (med burger, pommes frites og mineralvann), en kopp kaffe og en glass husets rødvin.

Gjennomsnittsprisen ble beregnet ut fra det gjestene normalt må punge ut med for alle de fire enheten på mer enn 840 tre-, fire- og femstjerners hoteller i 28 byer over hele verden.

Genève var kanskje ikke overraskende dyrest, og hadde den klart dyreste club sandwichen av alle. Den dyreste kaffen er å finne i Seoul, mens Paris serverer den dyreste vinen på femstjerners-hotellene, tett fulgt av Hongkong.

Av de 28 byene er Bogota i Colombia den billigste hotelldestinasjonen når det gjelder måltider gjennom hele dagen, etterfulgt av Mexico by, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid og Bangkok.

Carlson Rezidor, further strengthens its portfolio in Africa by announcing the Radisson Blu M’Bamou Palace Hotel in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of Congo. The upper upscale property with 178 rooms will be the first internationally branded hotel in Brazzaville and open in September 2015, www.eturbonews.com.reports.

The Radisson Blu M’Bamou Palace Hotel, Brazzaville is located less than 6km from the Maya Maya International airport. The property is situated on the banks of the Congo River and close to many local and regional banks as well as governmental institutions. Besides 178 guest rooms with Radisson Blu signature services such as free high-speed internet access, the hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, a main terrace and bar, a terrace pool bar, meeting & event space of 2,650m2, an outdoor swimming pool, a business class lounge, a gym & spa and a nightclub.

Sun International has rebranded five of its hotels in southern Africa to AVANI following an investment of SAR679.5 million by Minor Hotel Group, www.postzambia.com reports. 

Following the changes, Livingstone’s Zambezi Sun Hotel will now be called AVANI Victoria Falls Resort while the luxurious Royal Livingstone Hotel will remain unchanged but will be marketed through Anantra’s distribution channels.

Emmanuelle Moneger, who is general manager of the now AVANI Victoria Falls Resort, formerly Sun International Hotels, said the rebranding would not lead to job losses. Minor Hotel Group (MHG) chief executive officer Dillip Rajakarier said the partnership between MHG and Sun International will see changes in Zambia, Lesotho, Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland.

“MGH operator and investor, currently with a portfolio of 133 hotels and resorts in 22 countries across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, South America, Africa and the Indian Ocean will rebrand five hotels in southern Africa to its upscale AVANI brand from July 1 this year,” he said in a press release issued by Moneger.

“The 212 room capacity Zambezi Sun will be rebranded AVANI Victoria Falls Resort while the 196 room Gaborone Sun will now be known as AVANI Gaborone Resort and Casino. The 158-key Lesotho Sun and 105-key Maseru Sun, both in Lesotho, are to be rebranded to AVANI Lesotho Hotel and Casino and AVANI Maseru respectively and the 173-key Kalahari Sands in Namibia will reflag to become AVANI Windhoek Hotel and Casino.

The Sixth property in the portfolio, the well-known Royal Livingstone Resort, will not be rebranded and is being marketed through Anantra’s distribution channels.

“Rajakarier added that apart from the five hotels that had been rebranded in southern Africa, AVANI had eight hotels and resorts across six countries in Asia and Africa, including AVANI Pemba Beach Hotel in Mozambique and AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa. And in an interview, Moneger said the next expansion would involve creation of a spa at the Royal Livingstone and assured that no jobs will be lost during the rebranding process.

“Nothing will change in the manpower; if anything it will go bigger as occupancy increases. So the standards will not change and there will be even higher standards than what we have. At the moment, we have just finished the refurbishment of the AVANI (formerly Zambezi Sun Hotels),” said Emmanuelle Moneger.

I juni la Petter A. Stordalen og byggherre Arthur Buchardt ned grunnsteinen for nye Clarion Hotel Helsinki, som er Nordic Choice Hotels sitt første egne hotell i Finland, skriver www.travelnews.no

– Nordic Choice sin ambisjon har vært å være tilstede på de viktigste knutepunktene i Norden. Å investere i Helsinki har lenge vært en drøm. Med dette hotellet har vi ambisjon om å bygge et nytt landemerke i Helsinki og en naturlig møteplass i byen, sier Petter A. Stordalen.

Med 427 rom og 11 konferanserom, hvorav det største er på 700 m2, vil hotellet det størst konferansehotellet i Helsinki. Hotellet er tegnet av den finske arkitekten Aki Davidsson og vil blant annet bestå av to høye tårn og skybar med Kitchen & Table- restaurant signert mesterkokken Marcus Samuelsson.

– Vi har lett lenge etter et prosjekt som passer vår profil og våre ambisjoner. Når vi nå fikk muligheten, var vi nødt til å gripe den. Med spektakulær arkitektur og en perfekt tomt vil Clarion Hotel Helsinki gjøre seg bemerket i byen, sier Petter A. Stordalen.

Clarion Hotel Helsinki tilhører Clarion-kjeden som ble kåret til Sveriges beste hotellkjede for sjette år på rad i 2015.

– Clarion Hotel Post endret vi bybildet i Gøteborg, Clarion Hotel Edge fikk hjertet til å pumpe hardere i Tromsø og med Clarion Hotel & Congress Malmö Live skapte vi en ny bydel i Malmö. Clarion sin ambisjon er å skape glede og stolthet uansett hvor vi har et hotell, nå skal vi gjør vårt for å lykkes også denne gangen, sier Henrik Berghult, kjededirektør for Clarion Hotel.

Clarion Hotel Helsinki åpner dørene 17. oktober 2016.
