I Storbritannia skal prins William (34) og prins Harry (32) reise en statue av sin mor – prinsesse Diana, 20 år etter at hun døde, skriver nrk.no
Ifølge People skal statuen plasseres ved Dianas tidligere hjem, Kensington Palace i London. Hun var gift med prins Charles, prinsen av Wales, fra 1981 til 1996.
Prinsesse Diana døde i en bilulykke i Paris 31.august 1997, der også hennes kjæreste, egyptisk-britiske Dodi Al-Fayed, mistet livet.

The Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced that it’s appointed tourism agency Atlantic Link to represent Philadelphia in the Danish capital city of Copenhagen in hopes of expanding international tourism to and from the Nordic region, the phillyvoice.com website reported,
The firm will work to create itineraries that include Philadelphia and open greater opportunities for better representation abroad, according to the bureau.
“The PHLCVB team has worked actively and successfully in the Nordic market over the last several years by building awareness through travel, trade and press opportunities, and we’re beginning to see the results of our efforts,” PHLCVB President and CEO Julie Coker Graham said in a statement.
Coker Graham said that there’s been more visitation from the Nordic region and that the bureau predicts a 21 percent growth in the Scandinavian market in the next three years.
The opening is part of an ongoing effort to promote international tourism in Philadelphia. The Copenhagen office will be the city’s seventh international location, along with locations in China, India, Italy, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
The PHLCVB said that overseas visitation has been growing in the last years and is responsible for $982 million in economic impact for Philadelphia.
Philadelphia will launch its nonstop flights to Reykjavik, capital of Iceland, through Icelandair in May, another effort that hopes to boost travel.

Den årlige Internationale Grüne Woche Berlin – Grüne Woche i dagligtale, er nå i full gang, Dette er en av verdens største, og eldste, matmesser – der landbruks- og hageprodukter står i fokus.
Grüne Woche regnes som den viktigste matmessen i verden.
Over 1500 utstillere fra 61 land fra hele verden deltar, og 77 norske utstillere er på plass. Til stede ved åpningen var Norges landbruks- og matminister Jon Georg Dale (Frp), sammen med ministerkolleger fra alle deltakerlandene.
Den norske ambassaden i Berlin markerer denne uken at Norge deltar på messen for 30. gang.
Grüne Woche blir arrangert i messehallene under Funkturm (bildet) og ble arrangert for første gang i 1926. Hele 50.000 mennesker besøkte den aller første messen. Nå besøker over en halv million mennesker den populære messen.

The Reykjavík Tourist Information Centre has opened at City Hall, moving from its previous location at Aðalstræti 2, the Reykjavik Grapevine website reported.

Reykjavik city officials point out that some 475,000 tourists visited the Information Centre last year, marking a 28% increase from the year before. It is believed that the new location will prove a boon to the area.
“I am truly pleased to open the Tourist Information Centre in City Hall, which is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the city and one of the places that tourists visit during their stay,” Áshildur Bragadóttir, director of Visit Reykjavík, said in a press statement.
“This beautiful building is in the heart of central Reykjavík, and the new location of the Information Centre is sure to be an added stimulus to the surrounding area. There are exciting times ahead in tourism and I am looking forward to addressing them in collaboration with the company Guide to Iceland.”
Reykjavík City Hall is located next to Tjörnin pond in downtown Reykjavík, and the Tourist Information Centre is open every day except Christmas Day.

Den lenge utsatte åpningen av den nye internasjonale flyplassen i Berlin kommer ikke til å skje i år heller, skriver VG.no
Det bekreftet flyplassjef Karsten Mühlenfeld lørdag. Flyplassen skulle opprinnelig åpnes i 2011, og nå får den enda en utsettelse.
Tidligere denne uken ble det trukket i tvil om flyplassen kan åpnes i 2017, da det ble kjent at det er problemer med dørene på lufthavnen.
Det er bare én av en rekke rapporter om problemer som har dukket opp de siste årene.
Flyplassen får navnet Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt, oppkalt etter Tysklands tidligere forbundskansler og utenriksminister Willy Brandt (1913-1992), som var borgermester i Berlin fra 1957 til 1966.

Finnair har opprettet nye flyruter til Havanna på Cuba, Goa i India, Puerto Vallarta i Mexico og Puerto Plata i Den dominikanske republikk.
I tillegg øker selskapet antall avganger til Bangkok, New Delhi, Hong Kong og Singapore, skriver TravelNews.
Flere flyavganger og nye destinasjoner er i tråd med Finnairs vekststrategi. Med en effektiv mellomlanding i Helsinki kan norske reisende komme seg til disse reisemålene. I tillegg utvider Finnair tilbudet med flere flygninger til mange av sine populære destinasjoner for både ferie- og jobbreiser i Asia.
